On September 23, 2023, 22 people were baptized following a week-long evangelistic series held at the Napapar Church in Rabaul, East New Britain, Papua New Guinea.
The series was conducted by local pastor Himson Puri. The baptisms have increased the membership of the Napapar Church to 407 people.
An appeal during the baptism resulted in an additional 27 men and women taking the stand to accept Jesus as their personal Savior. Their baptism will happen in November during the next evangelistic series, which is planned to be held at one of Napapar’s planted churches, Gaulim.
In welcoming the newly baptized members, Pastor Puri thanked them for accepting Jesus and encouraged them to be involved in the mission of the church: making disciples. He also thanked the elders and those who have been actively involved in making disciples for their great commitment.
Following the baptism, an agape feast was held to welcome the new members into the church family. The Napapar Church has been baptizing people on a quarterly basis. It is a growing church and preparing for PNG for Christ 2024.
