Two weeks of evangelistic meetings broadcast on Hope Channel Philippines reached many hearts, perhaps most notably that of the presiding judge of a municipal trial court in Prosperidad, Agusan del Sur.

Judge Ofelia Puerto Cabahug, the presiding jurist, along with her two children, were baptized September 6 in Davao City following the “Law and Prophecy” series presented by Adventist Lawyers of the Philippines, which began August 23.

Judge Ofelia, married to an Adventist, followed the series closely after her sister-in-law, Gizelle Cabahug-Fugoso, herself a lawyer and president of the Adventist Lawyers grop, invited her to watch.

Judge Cabahug a graduate of the University of the Philippines-Diliman and the Ateneo De Davao University College of Law. She first practiced in a law firm and became a Branch Clerk of Court prior to joining the bench. She is married to Gibb Andrew Cabahug, a Seventh-day Adventist who opened God’s word to his wife. As a family they also learn Bible truths from Amazing Facts International’s “Storacles of Prophecy” lesson series.

Ofelia found the presentation and analogies in the series logical and direct to the point, answering her questions on Bible doctrines. When Gizelle asked her if she would like to accept Jesus as her Savior and be baptized, Judge Ofelia readily said yes.

Together with Ofelia, her children Gibb Stefan and Louella Isabel were also baptized in Adam’s Church in Davao City.

The Adventist Lawyers of the seeks also to be involved in Church ministries particularly in the End it Now Campaign against Violence, stewardship, legal and public affairs and in pursuit of religious liberty.
