"I moved to this neighborhood recently, and when I started to go around the area to preach the Word of God, I came across this recovery center and decided to give Bible studies to all the inmates, and at all times, I have seen great miracles through the hand of God," says Egberto Borbor, Bible class instructor in La Peninsula, Ecuador.

In the canton (i.e., subdivision) of La Libertad, Santa Elena, the South Ecuador Mission of Seventh-day Adventists inaugurated a space for Nuevo Tiempo Bible classes in the facilities of a rehabilitation center for people with addiction problems.

At the opening of this new space, 11 men decided to give their lives to God through baptism. Pastor Ricardo Peñafiel, director of Nuevo Tiempo Ecuador, participated in this ceremony and said these spaces are designated and prioritized for those who want to know about Jesus. "Espacio Nuevo Tiempo is a place to study the Scriptures through unpublished, colorful booklets, with special content for friends who want to start studying the Bible. Today, we rejoice in the Lord, to see that through these studies, people are accepting Christ in their lives, and we want that, like them, many more come to Christ through these spaces," he said.

In addition to this great celebration, the first Nuevo Tiempo Bible class space was inaugurated at the Roca de Los Siglos Church, through a special ceremony with the unveiling of the Nuevo Tiempo plaque. Pastor Manuel Vinueza, district leader, introduced the Bible instructors who will be working continuously on this project and made a commitment to the congregation for the contribution of this special place for friends who visit the church.

"I am very happy to see the whole church working in missionary work. Many people are accepting God in their hearts, and this type of space collaborates with the work being done here in the peninsula. We thank Nuevo Tiempo for the donation of the implements that were used in the opening of both spaces," expressed Pastor Vinuezal.

With the opening of these spaces, a total of seven are now available in southern Ecuador to receive people who wish to know and learn about the Word of God through personalized Bible studies.

Another piece of good news is that through a contract with a cable company made on Friday, August 18, 2023, more than 2,000 families will be able to access the Nuevo Tiempo signal, even in the most remote places of Santa Elena.
