Children's Missionary Bible Encourages Little Ones to Talk About Jesus

Developed in line with Evangelismo Kids, the publication provides Bible studies and other complementary content.

Children have gained a new tool to preach the Gospel. The Children's Missionary Bible brings all the knowledge needed for the little ones to share with their friends about Jesus. It was developed in alignment with Evangelismo Kids, which is a project that encourages them to become missionaries. The Bible contains six extra areas of content, called “seals,” that help to set up small groups, missionary teams, Bible studies, and more.

Geared to children ages 7–12, the Bible was made in an accessible language and full of interactive resources for both personal fellowship and evangelism. The colorful pages feature the characters from Our Little Friend and other illustrations to bring the stories to life.

Glaucia Korkischko, Children's Ministries director for the Seventh-day Adventist Church in South America, tells us what led to the creation of this content: "It is relevant from the starting point of personal study, and this already existed, but there was no material for children that, in addition to being able to study for themselves, they could didactically share with their friends.”

The pages of the Children's Missionary Bible feature, for example, the "Binoculars" section, which meets curiosities about the characters, stories, and other information. The whole narrative alludes to a journey of a child with Jesus, from Genesis to Revelation, to heaven, and has the necessary tools to reach the destination.

Family and Church United

For the potential to be fully realized, the participation of parents and the church is key. "They are going to use this Bible together; they are going to program part of this Evangelismo Kids structure at home, as a small group. A missionary duo is also done among family and friends. But it is also at home that the father will help, making a list of friends for intercessory prayer. The family should also prepare the children to preach a sermon. And the church has the role of preparing the structure for the children to preach," explains Korkischko.

She also points out that without the participation of adults, "[the child] can even continue feeding, but for it to fulfill the pillar of the mission, it needs the family and the church."

The Children's Missionary Bible highlights the twenty-eight fundamental beliefs of the Seventh-day Adventist and also has fifteen doctrinal Bible studies and eight prophetic Bible studies in children-level language. "Besides learning, the little ones can teach other people in a simple and playful way," says Korkischko.

The material will be available in Portuguese and Spanish. In Brazil, it will be available from June 2023 onward, through Children's Ministries Evangelismo Kids; in Spanish, from September 2023 onward, in Spanish-speaking countries.
