Caleb Mission: Over 8,000 Seventh-day Adventists to Leave a Mark of Hope in Southern Peru

From July 22–29, 2023, children, teenagers, young people, and adults will spend their vacations in social activities and preaching days.

Testifying about God's love and leaving an indelible mark on others is what thousands of children, adolescents, youth, and adults from the Seventh-day Adventist Church do; and in 2023, as in every year, the South Peru Union (UPS), under the leadership of Youth Ministries, returned to impact its territory.

In the midst of various social crises, "Caleb Mission: Beyond the Doors" was an opportunity to show interest and concern for the neediest people—for those who need encouragement or are in search of the salvation only Jesus can provide.

This campaign aimed to share the message of hope so that the youth of these times can accept Jesus. To this end, from July 22–29, the mission was to carry out a great work of evangelism, through social actions during the day (blood donation, prayer for the sick in hospitals, donation of non-perishable food, cleaning of public spaces, etc.) and preaching in the evening.

The more than 8,000 young people who participated in "Caleb Mission: Beyond the Doors" are from all the churches belonging to the seven administrative fields of the union, distributed among the conferences and missions of southern Peru: Lake Titicaca Mission (MLT), South Peru Mission (MPS), Southeast Peru Mission (MSOP), Central Andina Mission (MAC), South Central Peru Mission (MPCS), Central Peru Conference (APC), and East Peru Mission (MOP).

"Caleb Mission is the strongest Adventist youth missionary movement, where every young person is able to commit to God's service, dedicate their vacations, and share the message of hope … the call is for everyone; we are all Caleb," said Pastor Daniel Arana, UPS Youth Ministries director.

The Caleb 2023 Route

Also, during the development of this campaign, a series of visits to departments in the interior of the country were planned in order to take, through preaching, the message of hope to more people. Pastor Pako Molgwane, representative of the Adventist World Church, Pastor Carlos Campitelli, Youth director for the South American Division, and Pastor Arana were in charge of the messages.

As scheduled for the month of July, this evangelism route began on Sabbath (22) in the city of Satipo (belonging to the MAC), continued on Sunday (23) in Iquitos (MOP), then through Cusco (MSOP) on Monday (24), culminating on Tuesday (25) in the city of Arequipa (MPS).
