The youth room of the Adventist church in the neighborhood of Cidade Industrial de Curitiba (CIC), in Curitiba, Paraná, became a classroom for the free electrical course offered to the community. "I liked it because I learned a lot. The teacher teaches very well. It will help us to do some work and earn some money," says Ryan Delgado Ferreira Lemes, one of the 21 students who completed the course and received a certificate at the graduation ceremony held on Sunday, February 5.

Those interested registered at a health fair promoted by volunteers from the Caleb Mission project and attended classes in the evenings from January 30 to February 2, Monday through Thursday. On the last day, the students took the theoretical test and had a practical class. The course was taught by electrician Jesse Jaelson da Silva. "We simulated a complete house installation, with a living room, a kitchen, a bedroom, and a bathroom," explains da Silva.

The opportunity to learn an activity in order to obtain an income encouraged Lemes. "If we have more courses to take, I will definitely be there," he guarantees. This is the church's plan, which intends to offer more training courses throughout the year.

The next one is already planned, according to Pastor Carlos Máximo. "Our intention is to offer a cooking course. Some are already informing the names of family members," he says. The idea is to also hold a Bible class for the students who are interested.
