From March 7 to 9, 2025, Adventus University in Cernica, Romania, hosted the event “Ellen White, Prophetic Life and Ministry,” organized by the Spirit of Prophecy Department of the Inter-European Division (EUD) in collaboration with the Romanian Union and Adventus University.

Keynote speakers Dr. Merlin Burt and Dr. Theodore Levterov, representatives of the Ellen G. White Estate based at the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists in the United States, offered insights into the biblical foundation of prophecy and God’s enduring desire to communicate with humanity. Their presentations highlighted how this divine communication has been consistently expressed throughout history through the prophetic gift, including in the life and writings of Ellen G. White.

A significant highlight of the event was the unveiling of the Romanian translation of the book Understanding Ellen White, published by Adventus University Press. Coordinated by Professor Norel Iacob, director of the publishing house, the book aims to make accessible a balanced and scholarly resource that deepens understanding of Ellen White’s pivotal role in shaping Adventist theology, mission, and identity.

Additionally, the event marked the official inauguration of the E.G. White Research Center at Adventus University. Under the leadership of Professor Adrian Petre, the center will serve as a vital hub for academic research and education surrounding Ellen White’s prophetic ministry. The center joins a global network of White Estate research centers that support the study and responsible interpretation of her writings.

The gathering drew esteemed guests including Barna Magyarosi, executive secretary of the EUD, and Aurel Neațu, president of the Romanian Adventist Union, as well as pastors, students, and faculty members. Their participation underscored the importance of fostering theological reflection and historical understanding within the European Adventist context.

For many attendees, the event served as a meaningful opportunity to explore Ellen White’s writings and prophetic legacy within a global framework, reaffirming her ongoing relevance and the spiritual value of her contributions to the worldwide Adventist Church.

The EUD, one of the World Church’s 13 administrative regions, oversees Adventist work in 20 countries across central, western, and southern Europe, including Romania, Italy, France, Germany, and Switzerland. With a diverse cultural and linguistic landscape, the EUD supports initiatives that promote unity in mission and theological understanding, such as this event focused on prophetic heritage and spiritual growth.
