The inauguration marked the beginning of activities for the first Ellen G. White Study Center at an Adventist publishing house.

The Brazilian Publishing House (CPB) inaugurated the first Ellen G. White (EGW) Study Center installed in an Adventist publishing house on June 24, 2026. The ceremony took place during a meeting of leaders from the Spirit of Prophecy department of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, the department responsible for promoting the study, understanding, and dissemination of EGW's writings among members of the denomination.

CPB is responsible for the publishing rights of EGW's works in Portuguese and now offers a dedicated environment for the study and consultation of content related to the author. The center was created to broaden access to White's writings and encourage research related to her work. Additionally, the initiative seeks to preserve historical materials and support students, researchers, pastors, and authors interested in the subject.

CPB chose to host the EGW Study Center because of its historical role in translating, publishing, and distributing the author's books in Portuguese. Consequently, CPB holds the publishing rights to the author's work in that language and plays an important role in disseminating her work in South America.

Spaces dedicated to the study and preservation of EGW's work exist worldwide. EGW Centers function as official representations of the EGW Literary Estate and have responsibilities related to the preservation of original documents, while EGW Research Centers are generally linked to universities and seminaries, focusing on supporting academic research.

The new center is designed to facilitate access to works published in Portuguese and encourage their use by readers, authors, and researchers, complementing the work developed by other institutions.

The space is expected to contribute to the development of research, the training of new scholars, and the expansion of access to content related to the history and message of the Adventist Church.
