More than 1,300 people gathered at Pasar Seni Ancol in Jakarta, Indonesia, on September 27 for the 2026 Jakarta Banten (JBC) Fun Run. The Fun Run included 5K and 7K races and was organized by the JBC Adventist Church to encourage physical activity, strengthen relationships, and build bridges between church members and the local community.

The program opened with a short devotional message and prayer led by Leroy Pakpahan, JBC Adventist Church pastor, and a group warm-up exercise before the races began.

The 7K started at 6:14am, followed by the 5K at 6:21am. Runners followed designated routes around the Ancol area before returning to the start/finish line.

Participants aged 18–35 represented the largest age bracket. Roughly 57 per cent of registered participants were first-time runners. Of the approximately 1,300 runners, 432 were not connected to a church, which event organizers said demonstrated the event's ability to reach local community members.

Participants said the gathering offered an opportunity to begin developing healthier habits in a supportive community environment.

Event organizers stated that the JCB Fun Run reflected the Adventist Church's emphasis on holistic well-being—recognizing physical, mental, social, and spiritual health as important aspects of Christian living—and demonstrated how simple, community-centered initiatives can bring people together to create meaningful connections beyond church walls.
