The River Plate Adventist University (Universidad Adventista del Plata, UAP), the River Plate Sanitarium and Hospital, and the Municipality of Libertador San Martín in Argentina made a joint financial contribution to the local volunteer fire department to purchase a new fire engine. The new fire engine, unveiled at the local Adventurer Camp, will improve the department's emergency response capacity.

Adrián Fritzler, chief of the Libertador San Martín Volunteer Fire Department, acknowledged the support received from the institutions and recognized the volunteers' work.

"Feeling truly recognized by society and institutions and having our needs acknowledged is very important to us," he said.

Fritzler explained that purchasing the new fire engine was only possible through financial contributions made by UAP, the Adventist Sanatorium of the Plata, and others.

"They provided us assistance that allowed us to cover an expense we wouldn't have been able to afford on our own," Fritzler said. He thanked UAP, the Adventist Sanatorium of the Plata, the municipality, and the community for their support.

Church leaders said the acquisition of the fire engine complements the ongoing cooperative initiatives between UAP and other institutions in Libertador San Martín.

Horacio Rizzo, UAP rector, emphasized the importance of maintaining institutional ties, noting that preparedness and coordination are essential in the face of potential severe weather events.

To support institutional ties, UAP participates in Emergency Operations Committee (COE) activities with the municipality, the local fire department, the police, and other institutions.

UAP's Social Responsibility department promotes disaster-prevention materials with the assistance of students in the Social Communication program.
